Maidstone

Walking

Status:Active, open to new members
Leader:
When: On Friday mornings
Was third or Fourth Friday of the month - Now generally 1st Friday!

What: Walks start and finish at pre-arranged venues. Pub car parks are often the meeting points. Some of us follow up the walk with refreshment in the Pub, but this is not compulsory.

Walks are at a leisurely/steady pace with time to view and enjoy the history and beauty of the local countryside. Distance approximately 4-5 miles. Most walks within 10 -15 miles of Maidstone.

Boots, stout shoes and wet weather gear strongly recommended; it can sometimes be muddy. Equally, in very dry weather the going can sometimes be hard and uneven. Some stiles will normally be encountered.

Where: Various venues.

When: We usually meet on the first Friday of the month at 10.00 a.m. for a 10.15 start.

How to Join: Contact the Walking Group Leader

Time: 10.00 for 10.15 Start.

The Walking Group is based in Maidstone and walks many routes around the county Town.

The Group Leader visits all walking routes first to be able to inform the group of the features and hazards of the chosen walk.
